One of the girls commented that she really liked Okra and was raised on boiled okra when she was growing up in Alabama. Another girl said, ''you can't be serious, boiled okra tastes like a BJ''! The guys just stared and the first girl got this horrified look and said, ''Oh mah gawd, you are right. I never thought of that. Ah think I'm gonna lose my lunch''.
We just couldn't stop laughing. After that boiled okra just wasn't on the suggestion list at the UC cafeteria.
This is one of the least classy things you've ever posted. Makes me want to re-consider calling you pretentious.

Nope, nevermind. Still pretentious.

"least classy" Hmmm? OK, guilty as charged, but within the context of the moment it was one of the funniest unintentional comments ever heard by me. Even the girls who made the comments couldn't stop laughing when the penny dropped and they realized what they said.

"Pretentious" Hmmm? According to Webster: Pretentious is defined as:
1: characterized by pretension: as in making of usually unjustified or excessive claims.

I plead guilty to arrogance, which is probably worse, but I do not believe pretentious is accurate in my case. I do not make unjustified or excessive claims. Unless I am making an obvious joke or ironic comment I do try to keep things strictly within the bounds of those things which ARE and not those which I might prefer them to be.

I know lots of people hate steamed okra, but I love it.

I've never liked oranges. And as far as I'm concerned, orange juice = medicine.

I think the thread has morphed into "foods you really find disgusting".

LOL, boy was that a disgusting mistake. We had an Aussie girl bring some in to Social Studies in 8th grade. Bleeeeeeeeeeeech.

And FWIW, Nutella isn't all that appealing looking either, but it gets a pass on that for amazing creamy deliciousness.

Like lots of foods, not all fondants are created equal. I have had some very bad fondant icings and some very good ones.
