Can someone explain snap bids to me?

Women generally do not TRY to get snap bids, it's just offered and they accept/decline. Since it's a part of formal recruitment, they don't even know their bid is a snap bid. Often, they get them at the same time every other PNM gets theirs.

I saw one sorority at my school have to give out snap bids. Not enough pnm's accepted their bids which left the chapter under quota. They had about six spots to fill, and I saw those spots given out over the next week or so to girls who expressed interest in joining.

People don't usually shoot for snap bids. If you are interested in joining a sorority you should participate in the whole recruitment process.

I received my bid through snap bid. I think it was a great thing that can be offered to PNMs that do not get a traditional bid. Although, my case my have been an exception, I got a snap bid from my first choice. I did go to a school that only had 5 chapters at the time and not very competitive.

It is my understanding that snap bids are offered to PNMs that where dropped during recruitment. They did not drop out but where cut my the chapters.
