This is what I heard as well. I understood that it's OK for a woman to go through FR and then NOT sign a pref card. Let her go through the process and make sure those houses are not her home FIRST, and then withdraw and continue on with DG's interview process.

It's always been allowed to do this everywhere. No one can force you to sign one if you don't want to do so.

Of course, but I was just clarifying. What you said below made it sound like (to me, anyway) that if someone wants to be considered for DG colonization, they should not be participating in FR at all. Which is not the case.

No, they will be taking average chapter size, which will be determined after formal recruitment but somewhere around 260.
Go to www.deltagamma.org for more detailed information regarding dates and to sign up for an interview.
Or, you could just talk with the Greek Life office at UA....

I know what you meant, but I wanted to make sure others did as well.

Reread the sentence: should not be participating in formal recruitment while interviewingx with Delta Gamma...operative word being "while" - meaning simultaneously, at the same time. Before or after is OK....Not while.

Sorry for trying to be helpful. I just didn't want a confused PNM to think that they should withdraw NOW if they wanted any chance at DG (like it was an either/or scenario). The original question was about withdrawal, and my only clarification was "hey, go through the process and if you're not finding your home after that process, then interview with DG and give it a shot".
I should have stayed a lurker...

I didn't intend to come across as harsh...just that I did say "while" and I generally feel that people should be able to understand what that means. I say what I mean and mean what I say. (as a child, my father always got onto me for trying to back track on what I meant by telling me that he only knew what I said, not what I meant to say - so I do try to be crystal clear with what I say).

Got it...even though most of the post above sounds like word vomit to me...
I just was trying to be really clear for those mamas and PNM's who are nervous/freaking out/unsure etc... They might see what you read and think "oh I need to drop out right now or I'll have no chance at DG." Since it's such a delicate process and tensions are high on BOTH sides, I want to make sure everyone's clear and calm. And I just hate being snarked at for trying to be nice and helpful.
