Today I went around and saw 6 of the 11 chapters we have at U of A! (Spoiler: it was a GREAT day!)
Carnation: This was my first house of the day! I knew to expect singing and clapping, but I never imagined the volume that these girls could achieve! If there was one thing I was worried about not matching the sisters today, it was in lung capacity and bouncing stamina. Honestly, Carnation and every house after (almost literally) blew me away! But in a completely magical way! I went in, wide eyed and smiling, and my first rusher picked me up! She was so sweet, and it turned out we had participated in the same sport! We spent the rest of our time talking about the bonds of sisterhood, and she seemed to adore her sorority. The second girl, I felt, didn't really click with me. Our conversation was pretty generic and she kept breaking eye contact with me to look around the room. The third girl, however, was really nice again, and we talked about the snow (or my fear of it!) and why she chose Carnation out of all the surely amazing chapters on campus. I liked the girls, and they seemed close, but I don't know if this is the house for me. I left Carnation a bit dazed, relieved, and very, very excited for the rest of the day.
Sunflower: I was very excited to get to this chapter, and the house was gorgeous! Standing in line, I was bouncing up and down until the doors opened. The song the girls sang was so cute and all of the sister were amazing gorgeous. I was a little intimidated by that! My first girl led by through the line of clapping Sunflowers and we sat down to chat. She was very sweet, and we compared hometowns and siblings. A few of the sisters came by to say hi, but they weren't there to bump/replace my original girl, so I was a bit confused by that. (Didn't happen at any other chapter!) My second girl was even more energetic than the first, I didn't think it was possible! I could tell she loved her sisters and she told me a very touching story about sisterhood. My third girl was giggly and silly, and made me feel like I could just be happy and have fun here, though she did seem a bit distracted. All in all, Sunflower was a chapter that I really connected with. I could see myself loving this place.
Orchid: I went to this chapter third, and their house was by far the best that I had seen on campus! They had the most adorable matching accessories on and had the biggest smiles! The first girl I met I bonded right away with and we started laughing and joking together, it was like I had known her before! My second girl was a bit quiet, but she had some really thoughtful and sweet things to say about her chapter. The third and fourth girls, to be honest, blended together, but I think that was because they were roommates and had similar (adorable) personalities. Again, this house is in my top rank so far!
Gardenia: I was nervous about visiting this house (I won't say why, again, to try and stay anonymous) and was worried as I stood in line. By this time, thank God, it had finally cooled off a little bit and I wasn't sweating up a storm! The doors opened and the girl that greeted me was really, very pretty. She was so sweet and seemed genuinely interested in me and my goals for the near/far future! We talked about sweet tooths and Starbucks! The second girl was all about Starbucks! Can you guess what I was craving at this time? With the third girl though, we discussed what her sisterhood meant to her and why she chose Gardenia. By the time I walked out, I was happy with my time here, but I'm not sure I'll be invited back.
Daisy: One of the PNMs I met yesterday didn't have a good experience at this chapter, but I put that at the back of my mind. The doors opened and once again, I got the amazing feeling with all these girls singing in unity! The first girl was super sweet and super pretty and we spent our time talking about my classes and our pets. The second and third girls I met talked about what sisterhood and Daisy meant to them in their lives and it seemed like they had a very close bond. The fourth girl was really cute and we talked about candy most of the time! I left feeling like I could call this chapter home!
Honeysuckle: This was the last house we were scheduled to visit today and I was definitely feeling the long, hot day by then. The PNM behind me kept complaining about the wait, the humidity and the chapter we were at. It was hard, especially when I was so tired, to ignore her, but by the time the doors opened I had a smile on my face and was genuinely excited to meet these girls! The first girl was nice and we chatted about rushing as a sophomore and why she loved her sorority. The second girl, I mostly talked about classes and things to do on and off campus and shopping. The third girl, however, was a bit awkward ad I could tell she was shy. She was sweet though. I'm not sure I fit in here as much as I felt in other chapters I visited today, but you never know! It was only a half hour party.
We are ranking the houses tomorrow, after we meet the last five houses on campus, but I'll rank the houses I visited today! Here goes:
1. Sunflower
2. Daisy
3. Orchid
4. Gardenia
5. Honeysuckle
6. Carnation
Daisy, Orchid and Sunflower are all very close to being tied, but this would be my ranking if I HAD to rank tonight. I'm so excited to meet the remaining chapters tomorrow, I know I'll have a second day full of the most amazing women!
Wish me luck!

Second day, Set One survived!
Lily: This house had a really cute theme, and my first rusher and I really clicked. However, the second girl talked about only her hometown and I didn't get to talk at all. The third girl was sweet, but we didn't have much to talk about. Not one of my favorite houses.
Lavender: I wasn't expecting to like this chapter, but honestly, from the doorway song on, they blew me away. The girls were so upbeat and I had SO much to tal about with all four of them! They had the cutest matching accessories on and the house waas adorable. I left here with an extra bounce in my step and a good feeling. I definitely hope I get invited back.
Hydrangea: I did not click at all with these girls. The heat made me a bit quieter and the girl did not help in getting me to perk up. The first girl was sweet, but the second girl and I had a few awkward pauses (for the first time!) and we were grasping for subject. The third and fourth girls weren't much better. I can't see myself here, but some other PNMs loved this house.
Jasmine: These girls were all so beautiful, I was getting intimidated, but ALL of the girls were FANTASTIC! I had genuine conversations with each and every one and their house was simply adorable. We talked about sisterhood, siblings, hometowns, U of A and what they loved about their chapter. I sincerely hope I get invited back tomorrow.
Rose: This was our last house of Set One and I was feeling it. I was brave though! I put on my best smile and the conversations took off. I connected and such an amazing level with all of the girls, and the last two told me a pretty silly story that they were involved in. It was great to be able to sit there and giggle with them! I can see myself very happy here.
I'm exhausted, I have NO voice, but I'm looking forward to Philanthropy Day tomorrow! We had to rank our top eight (all as 0s) and our bottom three and 1, 2 and 3:
0. Rose
0. Sunflower
0. Orchid
0. Daisy
0. Jasmine
0. Lily
0. Lavender
0. Gardenia
1. Honeysuckle
2. Carnation
3. Hydrangea
The top eight are in no particular order!

AZTriDeezy, I doubt you have thought about this, but you probably don't want to interact on any of the U of A threads until the end of recruitment since you are an active sister and must obey strict silence during this time. This interaction could be construed as a recruitment infraction.

Oops. I knew about that rule but I didn't think it applied to message boards too.
Flowergirl8 I will still be reading your story, I just won't post in it anymore until you reveal your results for bid day! Good luck with the rest of the week, I'm rooting for you!

Today was Philanthropy Day! Set Two! I had the best day ever, it was so much fun seeing all the sisters again, and I even had the same rusher in a few chapters as Set One! (Is that a good thing?).
Today we could see up to eight chapters and I got eight invitations! It was magical, though my descriptions are getting shorter as the conversations become more personal.
Orchid: I love this house in Set One, and it honestly only got better today. Their house was amazing, their posters a scrapbooker's dream and their philanthropy was something very touching and personal to me. The girls I talked to were down to earth and fantastic. I left with a HUGE smile on my face and I hope I get an invitation back tomorrow.
Honeysuckle: This house shocked me. Set One was awkward and I didn't feel that spark, but today it was magical. All the girls I talked to were fabulous and their philanthropy description was so touching, you could see it meant a lot to these girls. I can see myself happy here!
Lavender: The house was amazing, but I had a hard time connecting to the rushers today, I wasn't sure why. Their philanthropy is sweet, but it seemed so distant the entire time it was being described. I'm not so sure about this one.
Rose: I loved this chapter in Set One, but I wasn't too thrilled with Set Two. My second girl, I felt, wasn't really listening to me but was more interested in joking around and waving at her sisters. I was a it disappointed. There just wasn't that spark there today.
Sunflower: I LOVED this house! I loved both of the girls that rushed me and their philanthropy is something that I can really get myself involved in. The first rusher and I ended up chatting like we had known each other for years.
Lily: I wasn't too sure about these girls after Set One, but at the end of today's visit, I was in love! The first three girls were all so so amazingly sweet and I felt like I had known them forever. Their house is adorable and the fourth girl...I could see her as a possible big, though I'm getting ahead of myself! I just floated out of this house.
Gardenia: I wasn't too sure after yesterday about these girls, but they all were so excited about showing off their sisterhood, philanthropy and chapter that I had a great time here and had some amazing conversations. I left knowing that rankings tonight would be very tough.
Daisy: Their outfits were so adorable, and I had the best connection with the glast girl I spoke with. She was the sweetest thing and, again, I had another "possible big" moment there. And again, I had to remind myself it is only Set Two!
It was so hard trying to pick only five to go into my top group, but I bit the bullet and made my selections:
0. Sunflower
0. Daisy
0. Orchid
0. Gardenia
0. Lily
1. Rose
2. Lavender
3. Honeysuckle
It was honestly so much fun and I haven't regretted going through this for a moment! I'm really nervous tonight about getting that dreaded call in the morning, but I all I can do is get ready for tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed. Wish me luck

If you don't mind me asking, you said you loved Honeysuckle today and could see yourself being very happy there, so why did you rank them so low?

I was wondering the same thing! But if you're happy, we're happy.

So today was Theme/Skit Day! We could get a max of five invites and I ended up with five! I was a little upset in the morning, however, because I ended up getting cut from three amazing houses, including my legacy house. I remembered though, that the chapters inviting me back saw something they liked in me and I owed it to them and myself to put the best of myself out there today!
Gardenia: I was living their theme, it was amazing! I really had a good connection with the girls who rushed me and the house up stairs was even more beautiful (if you can believe it!) Definitely a top choice.
Lavender: I wasn't too sure about this one, but I ended up feeling pretty at home with the girls, although I did have an awkward conversation with the last girl. Their door song was very catchy!!
Daisy: This house, these girls, their sisterhood is AMAZING! I was laughing during their skit, loving the conversations I was having and really enjoying the tour of the wonderful house. I left so so happy.
Rose: I wasn't sure at all about this house, but today changed my mind completely. I fell in LOVE, had a possible "future big" moment and teared up when I was talking to the last girl. I really loved this house.
Honeysuckle: I do fit in here, I just loved so many chapters, someone had to be last, though I don't regret for a moment getting them back! They were so sweet today and I really enjoyed the skit!
Some girls skipped events thinking they could get away with it, and they were dropped. I don't feel bad at all, these girls are working so hard just to give you a good time and you blow it off? Honestly.
It was so hard at selections but I finally chose my top two for Preference Night tomorrow!
0. Rose
0. Daisy
1. Gardenia
2. Lavender
3. Honeysuckle
I'm so nervous, I am literally on the verge of tears. Wish me luck
