I take that to mean that LL believes that ugamama was going off of a stereotype that TX moms go for Bid Day and she is claiming it's absolutely absurd and not true.
My personal experience is UT Austin (again, assuming LL's name and experience, hers should be similar). I pledged in the 90's and my sister in the 80's. In MY experience, it was very much the norm for families to attend bid day and I understand it still is. Legacy or not - and to be there to wipe tears off of those who don't fair well. I have also witnessed this at other TX and SEC schools where friends, daughters, etc... pledged.
Didn't mean to set anyone off here. I was simply going off personal experience and questioning LL's seemingly similar experience. That's all.
