My personal experience is UT Austin (again, assuming LL's name and experience, hers should be similar). I pledged in the 90's and my sister in the 80's. In MY experience, it was very much the norm for families to attend bid day and I understand it still is. Legacy or not - and to be there to wipe tears off of those who don't fair well. I have also witnessed this at other TX and SEC schools where friends, daughters, etc... pledged.

Didn't mean to set anyone off here. I was simply going off personal experience and questioning LL's seemingly similar experience. That's all.
