Ron: 6 Months she hasn’t seen me and it’s like I’m Frankie First year. I’m only her brother…
Seamus: She’s got lots of those though. She’s only got one Harry
Ron: Shut up Seamus.

Thanks! I wanted to go at the end of 2009 (when I graudated) but it wasn't open yet. I still haven't been able to get there.

for those that are planning a visit to HP World at universal-if they are still offering early admission for guests staying in certain universal or universal affiliated properties, take advantage of it. HP World is quite small and fills up really quickly once general admission folks arrive-it quickly becomes a "can't stir the people with a stick " situation. it is worth a look see.
fyi, the today show is sponsoring a sweepstakes for a trip to HP World.

This thought made me cry when Hogwarts first showed on screen.
I tried to explain this to my boyfriend (who has seen a few movies with me but isn't into it) and he totally doesn't get that this is so sad.
Yes, they're just books, but some of us, particularly my generation and younger, literally grew up reading these books. Harry Potter has been such a huge part of my life (not in a nerdy way, but in that I was always waiting for something new) for over half of my life.
It's just going to be hard to let that go.

The rumor that won't die. We'd probably know for sure if she was.

i sure hope not. the books are amazing the way they are. adding to them at this point would only take away from them, although i can't lie, i would like to see her try her hand at another series (but not HP related).

I agree. Unless she does one is set in the time period when Snape, Lilly & James were all at Hogwarts and revolved it around that. Something that wouldn't really relate to the "Harry Potter" story but still tied in would be okay I think. If done correctly.
But then again I also thought the epilogue was stupid & could have been done without.

I kind of figure this is what fanfic is for. JK is in the enviable position of never having to write anything she doesn't want to ever again. It's kind of an author's dream, assuming that she wants to keep writing. It's also the dream of someone who's glad not to HAVE to work again. She can keep busy and never write another word and still be richer than the Queen of England.
I get why the epilogue gets so much hate, but I think the story needed a "And they lived their lives" moment. Without the epilogue she'd probably have ended up telling people all about it anyway. "Yes Harry and Ginny get married. Yes Hermione and Ron get married. Yes Draco is still around and YES they all have kids who are all wizards... etc." So instead, epilogue. *Shrug* It's a very non-kids book series by the last few books, but it is still a 'kids' series.

But, that was in the book? I would have been upset if they left it out of the movie, I think.

It was a way to close the door on Harry's story, period. Like, there wouldn't be much of a point to going back and writing the 19 or whatever years in between. It might have been sloppy (and whooooooo boy was the cast's makeup and "middle-aged people" getup terrible) but it is what it is.

Haven't seen it yet, I took her complaint as a complaint about the existence of the epilogue at all.
Shame they didn't do so well at aging them up.

Daw sorry I spoiled a little, I didn't think I was spoiling.
The aging just looked really fake. It's hard to take young, beautiful people and make them look not as young and a little more tired without taking it over the top. Perhaps more mature clothes (and not the Madeleine Albright getup Hermione was wearing) plus cgi-ing some smile lines/crows feet might have made it feel more real. They had more makeup on than Sophia in Golden Girls (which, without HD, looked totally natural).

Meh no worries, I've read the books and i'm in the thread, I think complaining about being spoiled NOW is dumb.

My problem with the epilogue (in the movie) was the same as my problem with the Resurrection Stone scene in the Forbidden Forest and the King's Cross scene (in the movie) -- the were so serious and sterile. In the book they're warm; she makes a point in the Resurrection Stone scene to talk about how much everyone is smiling, and in King's Cross to talk about how Dumbledore keeps laughing.
