I really don't know...I'm reading some of these songs and I'm thinking...most of these songs would probably bring me down even more!
My personal favorite: Boyz II Men's I'm Doing Just Fine--"I'm...I'm doing just fine...getting along very well without you in my life (I don't need you in my life).."

My #1 all-time favorite is Break Your Heart by Barenaked Ladies. The best part is "My heart will be fine/Just stop wasting my time!/I know I'm over you, and I'll be ok/Because I've got what I want/And that's rid of you, goodbye". I just love the way that Steven Page sings that! He really gets into it and gets all emotional. *sigh* Ok, I'll stop gushing now.
"You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morrisette is my other favorite...I watched her Behind the Music last night and was reminded again what a freakin' awesome album Jagged Little Pill is.

Different View
I guess my breakup songs are not about letting go, but remembering the beauty of the relationship, the passion, the lust. So, I use both "traditional" and "non-traditional" songs to heal. Just commenting, not listing, cuz they are too personal...
