Mom Who Lost 3 Daughters in Taconic Crash is Pregnant
Wasn't there a 2009 thread about this horrific accident?

In the case of Jackie Hance and her husband, Warren, you have another child.
Nearly two years after her children died in a head-on collision that killed a total of eight people on the Taconic Parkway in Westchester County, N.Y., Hance is speaking out for the first time about her paralyzing grief and her current pregnancy with a first-person article in Ladies’ Home Journal. The writer who collaborated with her on the story, Janice Kaplan, was in the studio to speak with TODAY’s Matt Lauer on Wednesday.

To remind everyone of this incident:

The only survivor was Schuler’s son, Bryan, who is now 7.

I can't even imagine the mental and emotional toll this has had on everyone.

I was reading the article and the woman's husband is still in denial saying something medical must have happened for her to have all that alcohol & marijuana in her system while driving. Are you kidding me?
I feel for that other woman & her husband but it is a blessing to be able to have one more child. I wish them both the best of luck & maybe they'll be able to rebuild a strong life together with their new baby without the media bothering them & the husband of the woman who killed their kids not continuing to seek publicity to exonerate his wife.

I see this as none of the public's business. I'm indifferent, except for the fact that I'm a little upset that the media is publishing anything on this at all. It isn't newsworthy and these folks have been through an awful trauma.
LEAVE THE HANCES ALONE!!!

The tragedy is so mind blowing that I can understand her husband being in denial. Denial happens all of the time when people can't believe that something so preventable could actually happen. And that the person you thought you knew and loved could be addicted, which includes being self-centered and careless, as to not only harm themselves but others.
I hope he and his son are in therapy.

I too wish them peace and blessings. The media will probably leave them alone. I believe it was she who reached out about her pregnancy and so forth.

My interpretation is the media (maybe the local media always was and the mainstream media is finally getting new info) isn't bothering them. The Hances volunteered the information.

I can tell you from familial experience that no matter how many kids you may have afterward, that having another child after losing even one child (let alone two, three or "all", can be bittersweet.
Interspersed with all the joy of having a baby, there can be a lot of guilt in moving on and opening your heart to having another child, because you worry that you're forgetting or replacing the one(s) you lost.
I don't think that the parents should have to answer for having another child, but they had a choice to talk to the media.
