I would suggest a salon brand (i.e. Bed Head, Redken) in a liter bottle. They are $20 at the salon I go to BUT they last me anywhere from 3 to 6 months (though I don't have to wash my hair much, it's really dry). It really is worth the investment because they can last so long and I think they're way better for your hair (I've noticed a tremendous difference in the number of split ends I got using drugstore brands v. salon). Also the versions you can get at Walmart can sometimes be watered down, to make them cheaper. I'd only buy them from a salon. It ends up being about $13/month for shampoo and conditioner, which wasn't that far off from what I paid before, and for me it's much less (i.e. I bought my last bottles in January and now just finished them in July). A hair stylist could also recommend a good brand for you, and some of the scents are awesome.

I agree with the salon brands. I use AG and its wonderful and probably one of the best ones (in my opinion). When I go to the store to buy shampoo (which is only like 2-3 times a year because I'm also a fan of the liter) they don't try to sell me any other type.

Just FYI to all my fellow liter fans, Beauty Brands is having their annual liter sale where you can get a liter for $11.98. Ulta has liters for $14.99 and then theres the $3.50 off coupons if you get their magazines so its essentially the same price.
