Done! Wow, I forgot how much I loved American Girls. I spent so much time playing with them as a kid.

Yeah that was long, but I did it. A lot of N/A because I didn't know there were dolls and such until I was an adult. I'd only read the Addy series as a child, but I did give the boxed set to my mentee when I was in college. I'm going to see if Amazon has it for cheap.

I had Kirsten too! She was my favorite because it was close to my name. I had all of the history type American girl dolls and then I had one of the create your own ones. I absolutely loved them and I would recommend them to anyone. I didn't know how expensive they were when I was little but some of my clothes were like generic doll stuff and it worked out fine

I had Samantha and Felicity. I liked the clothes a lot. I liked Felicity's ball gown and Samantha's fur tam and muff. I enjoyed the books, too.

I'd forgotten about mine but I found Samantha in her trunk in my parents' attic last weekend...I rescued it because our attic is a horrible place to store anything that squirrels or weather can ruin. I was not into dolls at all as a kid but I loved that one specifically because of the historical aspect. I plan to save her in case I ever have kids.

I never had one, but my sister had 3. Being a poor college student, she has decided to gift them to my daughter for future Christmas/birthday gifts. This past Christmas/birthday, she gave my daughter her Bitty Baby (in great shape, perfect for a 5 year old) as a birthday gift, and then gave her a little suitcase full of clothes and accessories as her Christmas gift. My sister also has Kit and Samantha, and she plans on giving Kit next year (since my daighter resembles her the most). They're all in excellent shape, though Samantha needed her hair "treated" when we got her out of the attic.

I really loved American Girls. There was a stretch when every Christmas, my grandmother would get me a doll, so I still associate them with that - holidays & my family I probably didn't play with them "correctly" - I mixed up all their clothes and accessories and never really kept them in their own time periods. I wanted them to all be friends!

I never kept mine in the correct time period either.
I had tons of random modern outfits, etc and I loved it

I took the survey too! It was way long though

Yeah, I liked Samantha's historical context the best. I have always been interested in that time period, because of her. I enjoyed the Samantha film. A little Hallmarky and sappy, but wholesome and fun. I always thought that Aunt Cornelia was so cool.

Oh, Bitty Baby. I never got one, but I thought they were so cute.

A pretty thorough survey. I would be interested in reading the finished study.

My mom made sure that I never touched the historical dolls clothes which I guess is a good thing (although I did sneak a few of them and changed their clothes anyway). I loved the books too and read all the ones they came with. I noticed they discontinued Samantha which sucks because I loved her and the time period. They made a movie from it too!

I bought my God daughter 2 Samantha books for Christmas. That's sad that they retired her doll.

I am going to Chicago this week and seriously, I'm probably most excited about going to American Girl Place. I've never been!

Anyways, a friend just posted this on facebook.
