My little sister in the sorority had been dating a guy for four years. She had taken him out for his 21st birthday and then a week later his friends wanted to take him out...a guys night out. She went out to the bar with us and we all had an awesome time. She was really drunk but I knew she had a safe ride home so I left. The guys that her boyfriend went out with had taken him home and I guess what happened was that he decided he wanted to go see my little sister so he got in his car and tried to drive to her apartment. He never made it...he got in an accident less than a mile from her apartment and died.
I had stayed at my boyfriends fraternity house...when I woke up in the morning one of his brothers asked if I knew where my little sister was at, I asked why, and he said because her boyfriend died in an accident last night. I just about threw up right then and there. I got on the phone and started making phone calls to see who she had stayed with. Nobody had gotten a hold of her and when she got up in the morning she drove home to her apartment where her roommate (another sorority sister) was waiting to tell her the bad news. I guess my little started vomiting blood. I can only imagine how bad it was. I drove past the accident site and it was awful. The following days were even worse. Our whole entire sorority spent endless hours at her parents house and all of our sisters attended the funeral services.
From that point on my sisters have taken DD responsibilites even more seriously than before. You don't ever think that something will happen to one of your close friends.
