No, if you'll go to the Beta website and see the construction photos, it's clear that they'll have two separate buildings. The Pike house at FSU will remain the largest in the nation with 40,000 square feet under one roof. But it does sound like the Betas are building a showcase house. If you want to see another fabulous house, visit SAE at Kentucky.

That could be the case, but the article indicated "The new house will be 41,000 square feet, nearly twice the size of the old one." The article doesn't address the old annex at all, which will remain and is not part of the new construction project.

Wow. If that's the case Beta will have one house at 41K plus an annex at probably (?) 10K. That should set a mark that may never be surpassed. I've seen a lot of house plans and I'll stick to my guess that the two houses together equal 41K. However, hats-off to Beta. Records are made to be broken.
Re SAE at UK, they had a hazing incident this spring and the members have been moved out of the house because of a fire-related violation. It was bad, but I doubt that SAE will be out of their house for long.

UK’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter was suspended March 2010 and is scheduled to return from suspension Fall 2012. My understanding is that their house is not now, nor will be, used by any other GLO (or other group) during SAE’s suspension.
