People ask about your major because it is a safe topic to talk about, and one that applies to every PNM. So anyway, the point is to keep the conversation going. If you don't have a major, you just want to be sure you don't shut down your rusher by saying "I don't have one" and giving her nothing to go on. You could say "I don't have one, but I'm considering geology" or "I don't have one, but I'm excited to be taking some art history classes this term", etc.

It's not a trick question. As long as you don't come off as being undeclared because you're not interested in being in school at all, you'll be fine.

Try not to over think these things. That's how you can end up letting your nerves get the best of you and not showing sorority members your true personality.
