Carrying weight can make the penis look smaller.. similarly losing weight from the stomach/abdomen can make the penis look bigger. I didn't know there was an overarching myth either (is there?) but the weight can affect the appearance of size.

Yeah, I could ask the guys I work with since their job is to do drug tests and they see a lot of penises. But I'm not that cruel.
