I won't go that far. At least you can goof on this and have some fun with it. Nickleback on the other hand, I'm ready to kick my 3 little out of the family for liking them on facebook. ha ha.

You are blasphemous sir, BLASPHEMOUS. Zapp predated auto tune by about two decades. I am sure there is a low ratio of bounce to your ounce. You get no computer love.

LOL. She took your computer love and p-funk cards.
Although auto-tune was not introduced until the late-90s, I consider the vocoder and talk box that Zapp and artists in the 1970s-1980s used to be an earlier version of auto-tune. Same point, different trademarked instrument.

Auto-tune: The new millennium's talk box.
I'll be taking back my Computer Love, thank you very much.
ETA: DrPhil is on it. Because of that, I have a proposition -- Iiiii wanna be your man. Yes, I do. Yeah, yeah.

The difference for me is that auto tune is done by computer, and I think takes less talent and work than the talk box used in the past. In the studio one may get the ability to get it right, but in person at the time, a vocoder or talk box had to be on point for a live performance. Hell, people don't even need auto tune, they can just lip sync and have less of a chance of being caught than Rob & Fab and C&C Music Factory stealing from Martha Wash.
K-shadon't you know it's true, no one wants a computer love virus from you!

Nah, I think it just so happens that the artists who used vocoder and talk box were vocally and instrumentally talented. Chicken and egg kinda thing.
Also, the vocoder is a machine (computerized thingie?): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocoder
And the talk box is a device that's more "primitive" than a computer but it was still a device. As much as I love me some Peter Frampton, I laughed at wiki's photo of his talk box: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box
