I think you may be right. It's actually in our General Regulations that "[t]he probationary member pin shall be worn at all reasonable times (i.e. probationary members shall not be required to wear the pin during sleep, at times when it could cause injury, etc.)."

For us, it's required whenever he is wearing a shirt with a collar.

During my 4 years in school, I don't think I ever saw a guy wearing a pledge pin around campus. And I can assure you that the majority of groups don't have a revamped pledge process. Maybe the campus culture has something to do with it?

At least with Psi U, we wear it on the innermost layer, so you usually wouldn't see it.

Not being snarky, but maybe you just didn't notice it. Sigma Chi pledges always had to wear their pledge pin. Although, pledge pins can only be worn with a collared shirt (so, Polo type is ok). No t-shirts and pledge pins together.

This is a very definite possibility, lol

My fiance's good friend lived with a Sigma Chi and I remember that he ate dinner with all of us a few times during our freshmen year. I don't ever recall seeing a pledge pin. But as you mentioned, maybe I just didn't notice.

But that brings up a question--so if you HAD to wear your pledge pin everywhere during pledging...and you HAD to wear a collared shirt with your pin...did that mean that you HAD to wear a collared shirt everywhere?

And come to think of it, I never saw my fiance wear a pledge pin either...and I saw him quite often when he was pledging. From what I understand, his chapter was pretty traditional.

I don't think its hazing, i just think its fucking retarded to think that wearing a pin 24/7 is a sign of you being a worthy aspirant to come into our bond.

what happens if you don't wear it? They drop you? Its stupid haha

Thats awesome. I chose Lambda Chi for a few of the reasons in the pledge process but mostly others.

I also apologize for assuming, but I just didn't see another reason to wear a pin 24/7 haha

Well your group doesn't have pledging, so we don't expect you to understand.

But aside from that, is LXA the only IFC group that uses the term aspirant? I've only heard it in a NPHC/MGC context before.
