If your girlfriend takes the pill as prescribed, she should be okay. It IS possible to get pregnant while on the pill- I personally know three girls who it has happened to! If it is an issue for concern for the both of you, you could look into alternate/additional forms of BC. I personally take the pill and Depo (it's a shot I get only 4 times a year). My doctor says if I get pregnant on this combo, I'll be a medical miracle. You could be a real sweetheart and split the cost of an additional form of BC with your girlfriend if she doesn't have insurance. Just think- condoms, the pill, the shot, etc. are a lot less expensive than a baby!
