This is a very old thread, but I have to set some facts straight. Squamish was a science and engineering fraternity on Busch campus before 1981. The members agreed to "merge" with Chi Phi around 1982, in order to move into the palatial College Avenue house. Chi Phi leased the house to ZTA up 'til then, but national wanted to re-establish the chapter.
The Chi Phi - Squamish members not only rebuilt the house themselves, they had the highest cumulative average of any fraternity on campus, did a lot of fund raising for the community, and were known for great parties where greeks and nerds alike could have fun. Typical of any frat party, when large blocks of jocks try to crash it, there can be trouble, especially when they are college drop outs and wannabees.
I don't know what happened after the mid-90s, but my guess is the membership changed from serious students who wanted some fun. Too bad. Great memories in that house.
