Our first machete step occured late 1979 very quickly after our founding. The machete has special menaing to us its even on our shield. Yeah we see other orgs trying to do it too but as you said "What can you do" right? but it good to see another org doing it with meaning rather than it being just cool.

That's cool. In my sorority, we use machetes to symbolize the strength of Latina women (particularly since women have historically not be allowed to dance with machetes in many societies - Mexico, for example). I can appreciate if an org. uses them for cultural reasons, but I have seen some organizations use them for "shock" value...like, "oooh they have KNIVES!" lol

Maybe you need to bring your own machete to the conversation to get his attention.

I just watched some Lambda Sigma Upsilon stepping on youtube. The way those machetes were flying was amazing, particularly when they were passing them between their legs. They are both talented and brave! It was making me wince and I'm a girl!

There's nothing I could swing between my legs, stepping or not, that could grab Sen's attention.

Life goes on, I guess.
