The West Virginia fans I met at the LSU game this year had nothing but nice things to say about Rich Rod. They said that everyone had fun "hating" him, but they all acknowledged that he got them where they were, and they were all grateful to have such a great coach for a while. We were a little shocked to hear that since none of us will say the same about Saban!

Interesting! My friends are really not of the same opinion, although they do agree (in a begrudging sort of way) that he got them to where they are. They are also not pleased with this football season....

Andrew Luck remains at Stanford
Good call. It's Stanford. A degree from Stanford is a good thing to have if the NFL doesn't work out.

Like I said, we were surprised since none of us are so charitable.

The Facebook invite for this year's game was "Michigan State vs Saban"...which we all know the result. I think a lot of the MSU fans are still mad at Saban for leaving MSU.
I wonder how is WVU's attitude towards U of Michigan? Afterall they did hire Beilein and Rich Rod away from WVU.
just a thought.

^^^Well, coming from a family of West Virginians (although none of us went to WVU), I personally don't have bad feelings towards Michigan although I wanted them to lose while he was there. I did have a coworker who was a Michigan man. When he found out I was a West Virginian he apologized to me on behalf of the University of Michigan. LOL.
AOII Angel I do not know what namby, pamby, bandwagon, pitiful brand of West Virginia Mountaineer football fan you met, but they need to have their state citzenship papers revoked! I'm just not that forgiving - and I'm a minister's wife. You reap what you sow, Rich.

The real problem with Michigan is that we want another Bo and there will never be another Bo. <sigh>

Ha, ha! That's how I feel, too! He was a huge fan...went to all the away and home games. He talked like an insider, which was interesting. I know he made my husband raise his eyebrows! Hell, it's been how many years since Saban left LSU, and we still affectionately call him Satan.

Yeah, we have similar problems at LSU. We aren't looking to replace a particular coach, but we want perfection. There is no perfection. You'll have great years and not so great years. The worst thing you can do is chase off a good coach during the off years. Hopefully you guys will find someone who will fit your school. That's all you can really hope for.

Truly hope Farley gets DECKED on the 1st play
http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefoot...rty-rep-010611
I've never said that about a player but he is the first.
He scares me the way he has injured QBs and other players, esp. after the ball was thrown, etc.
Sounds like the coaches know that he is dangerous but won't/can't stop him.

Okay, I'm cringing. It might be true - probably is - but the last thing my Ducks need is to give Auburn any bulletin board material 5 days before this game. Darren needs to zip it for the time being.

I hope Oregon can stop Cam Newton. Can't stand Auburn.

I'm indifferent on who wins this year, although I might say that seeing the SEC winning it every single year is getting a little old.

Well, as much as people hate the SEC, we're a strong conference. There is no denying it. Oregon may have the winning formula, though. Their no huddle offense may be enough to wear down the Auburn defense. It's something that the SEC (and really anyone else) doesn't see. It should be an interesting game. As much as I hate Auburn, I have to root for the SEC. When one of our conference members wins, it makes us all look good.
