Imposter strikes up conversation and gains knowledge of you and makes you think this imposter is a sorority sister and you need to do as told. Eventually wants pictures of you. Happening at Auburn, FSU, UF, Alabama, and LSU. All Southeast schools; UGA ...did not appear in the piece. Saw on The Today Show this morning. Tell your girls to be careful!!!"

Wow, creepy, creepy, creepy. I don't know that I would be so quick to get involved in a conversation like this with someone I didn't really know on FB. If it was a question of a "leadership position" or whatever, I would go straight to my new member educator about it. It is really sad how gullible some people are with the internet and REALLY freaky how this stalker had so much personal information on these women to begin with.

During our first semester on campus, a bunch of us got friended by someone with the name "Stacey Belle", who claimed to be a sister. It was not long after we had just received bids to our colony, so everyone was still friending everyone else, so it slipped under most people's radar. Someone who was friended soon realized, however, that there was no one in our chapter named Stacey. Everyone was told to defriend & block. Luckily it didn't escalated past that but it was very odd.

I'm glad that they caught the guy but I still can't help but see the humor in this and the definite lesson to be learned, especially for the Internet Generation.

The Internet never replaces face-to-face interaction and more intimate modes of communication. If some random is contacting you via the Internet and establishing substantial communication about personal, important, or private things: DO NOT ENGAGE THE PERSON SUBSTANTIALLY UNTIL TALKING TO A REAL LIFE PERSON AND MAKING SURE THAT IT IS LEGIT.
