LikeGreek,

Of course I can't speak for everyone out there, but as an initiated sorority member, I like to remember that my membership means that I'm a member of this sisterhood for the rest of my life. In those terms, what's really the difference between one or two years in college? What you gain as a member of Greek Life might make college more enjoyable, but it makes life richer ever after.

There is a difference when talking about recruitment as a non-freshman at competitive schools, which is what this thread is about.

The OP is asking about the possibility of being considered for a bid as a sophomore at the University of Arizona, which has a competitive recruitment. LadyLonghorn just wrote an excellent post in another thread. One of her points explains what the OP will be up against. Essentially, the OP will be competing against a thousand or more freshmen, and transfers, and she may not "stand out" against that pool of potential new members. It's a challenging playing at best for the freshmen, let alone upperclassmen.

Talking about lifetime membership (which is near and dear to my own heart) is an entirely different topic.
