I am totally in on this. The day A-Phi chooses to colonize at Florida, someone send me a PM and I'm on the next plane to help. I love it down there and to see a thriving chapter, would be awesome.

I would like to see an Alpha Phi colony at Florida Gulf Coast University (in Estero, FL) . I live 45 minutes from there and recently had to leave my chapter at Barry University (in Miami) due to financial aid issues and there isn't even an alum chapter here that I know of...But I think that FL in general needs more Alpha Phi's! <3 AOE

Pardon the crash-
I would like to see you re-colonize your Zeta Nu chapter at Texas Christian Univ. The Greek community there is thriving with 11 chapters and quota at 55 this year, compared to 9-10 chapters with quota in the low 40s when I was there in the early 90s. Perhaps they will open up for a 12th (and even 13th?!?) chapter in the next few years.
Only 3 chapters (APhi, KD, AGD) are dormant at TCU and it would be wonderful to welcome back any of them. It has been almost 20 years since a chapter closed on that campus.
Gamma Phi Beta colonized very successfully in 2007, so the campus culture is certainly open to new groups.
Crossing my fingers for growing the TCU system and would love to have your organization join us again!

I was having a conversation with someone over the last week or so and I did say I feel Alpha Phi will have a strong future in the state of Florida over the next few decades. I just have this "feeling" there will be more colonizations and there will be a greater Alpha Phi presence. FSU is just the beginning.

Aww...thank you for the crash! Very kind words!
I would love to see us at TCU again too. One of my cousins was a Zeta there, and from what I know of her experiences and what I've read here, the Greek community is really vibrant. It would be so great to be part of it again!

UC MERCED
University of California has a new campus at MERCED. There are only 3 national Panhel groups there so far: DG, KKG, and DDD.
AP would be a great addition!

There was a Stanford recolonization in the 70's - Kappa deuteron - but they seem to have gone down again. [ All sororities were kicked off campus in the 40's after one girl killed herself when she didn't get a bid.] From what I remember the area rep. said Stanford does not really welcome Greeks wholeheartedly and keeps them on a short leash.
On the SU website the last recruitment calendar is from 2007! yikes.

Greekchat is reporting that Alpha Phi has been chosen to colonize at Worcester Polytech Institute. Congrats to Alpha Phi. Don't know the timeline involved.

From Alpha Phi's press release:
"Alpha Phi will be joining the WPI fraternity and sorority campus community in winter 2011, and upon installation the colony will become Alpha Phi's Iota Omicron chapter."

I will try to find the old newspaper where I read they characterized the sisters as being 'devisive to womanhood and leading to the death of a young (non-pledged) student' as their justification for closing them all.
