A little note about asking friends:
There is a fine line between asking friends about COB tactfully and being creepy and/or annoying about it.
People can generally tell when you are talking/interacting with them with the SOLE goal of getting a COB invitation or a bid.
Just use your better judgement and don't go overboard.
Ex: When you see Amy Alpha, you don't want the first words out of your mouth to be "So, is ABC doing COB right now???"
