They should contact you either way, because if they are not extending you a bid it's still rude to have you keep your Tuesday afternoon open and have you be on pins and needles for days.
(I've revised my previous post.)

Did classes already start? Is this COB immediately following formal recruitment, or is it an "off" semester? Were recs important and if so, did you have them? How are your grades/resume/etc.? Just as in formal recruitment, the girls have to make choices.

There can be so many variables. Everyone does COB differently. If there are a lot of girls participating, it might not be possible to call everyone.

When I went through COB, I believe that after the first two "open" events (they were the same event, you could go to either or both), you only found out if there was another event if you were personally invited. I'm trying to remember how we were told; I think that they slipped notes under our dorm room doors.

The only "courtesy call" was on bid night, when we had to wait in our rooms to find out if we were invited to pledge. You either "got the call" that you were not being extended a bid, or a sister knocked on your door to hand-deliver the bid (which was very exciting!).

I would ask the point of contact if one was given to you - as in, if you don't hear anything, call this person for more info. Otherwise, it might be a "don't call us, we'll call you" type of thing. I do think that COB can play with your sensitivities a bit, especially because there is more one-on-one time, and you aren't going to other parties and comparing experiences.
