My schedule for the next day looked like so:

I was disappointed to not have a full schedule, but I got my favorites back so I wasn't upset. Not bad!

Vileplume: I liked this house a lot less. Their skit looked like they had thrown it together last minute, and the sisters looked very apathetic. I was slightly unimpressed and wished I had seen enthusiasm like I had in other houses.

Moltres: I was still so-so about this house. Their skit was cute and the sisters seemed to get along with each other, but I didn't know if I felt at home.

Zapdos: I really, really fell in love with this house this round. Their skit was so cute and I talked to two very nice girls. I got double rushed though after the skit, which made it really hard to make a connection.

Rapidash: Wasn't a fan of this house. I had a girl who seemed completely uninterested in me and I had to force on the conversation, but we did a house tour and the house was very nice!

Dragonite: Once again, loved this house. Their skit almost made me tear up, I just really felt at home here.

Magikarp: I had a not so good experience here. The girl talking to me heard something another PNM next to me was saying and joined in their conversation and completely ignored me the entire time. It was so frustrating.

Squirtle: I tried so hard not to, but I got so attached to this house. The girls were so sweet and their skit was hilarious, and I talked to so many different girls and had such good conversations about everything from grades to theater to philanthropies. I left so confident I would be invited back.

We had a max of 10, and had to cut down to 6, so I could only "regret" one house. I cut Vileplume.

Sigh. Skits aren't everyone's bag, and if they aren't your chapter's, I think you should just suck it up and admit it and do something "skit-like" rather than a memorized lines, singing, dancing skit that you feel hideously uncomfortable doing.

Being from a school that doesn't do skits, I have to say that I don't get the point anyway. Does it show your sisterhood, philanthropy, chapter/national values, etc...or does it show that you have (or don't have) a witty sister or two that can write lines and a few that can act and/or sing said lines?

Feel free to carry hijack into another thread, as to not derail this one, if anyone cares to discuss.

oh no! I wasn't trying to degrade them or anything. It did kinda sound like I was... :/ I saw some bad skits all day, but it was the enthusiasm they put into it that made them enjoyable. The girls just didn't seem to care too terribly much about it.

Anyway.

I opened my schedule for philanthropy day and saw out of a possible 6:

I was so disappointed. All but one of my favorites had cut me, and for most of them I couldn't understand why. But I knew I loved Dragonite, so I was determined to be super sociable at that party.

Vileplume: I didn't have a good time here. This house would be great for some people, but right now it wasn't for me. I didn't click with any of the girls I talked to and it just didn't feel like a fit for me.

Dragonite: I liked this house even more. The decorations were adorable, they seemed really into their philanthropy and the girls were so nice, and even though I only tallked to one sister the conversation never lagged and I had a really good time.

Moltres: I couldn't get off the fence on deciding about this one. Once again, I saw how much the chapter members clicked with each other, but didn't feel like I fit in that well. Luckily I had a very easy decision that night.

We cut down to 3, so I didn't have to do anything! Just turned in my slip and went back to my dorm, praying that Dragonite would ask me back...

I didn't think that at all! It's just a tangent I went on...something we've discussed here before. I definitely wasn't chiding you in any way.

Sorry to hear you did not end up in Dragonite - but if you uncomfy in the other two to the degree it seems you were, you made the correct decision.
