Let me know if we need to be in cahoots over gifts/deliveries.
And...
Why didn't you tell me so I could write a rec?
ETA: Never mind, I didn't get back into civilization until rush was in swing, my bad.

So excited to share this one:
My soon to be cousin in law went through recruitment at Mizzou. I found out that she is a legacy (from her grandmother) to Alpha Phi after she started recruitment. I mentioned it to fiance, and he's like "Yeah, grandma was an Alpha Phi." I had NO idea it was their grandma, I assumed it was the grandma on the other side! I assume that I never knew about this until now because their grandmother is deceased.
Well, I had been in touch with cousin in law all week. Today, on Mizzou's bid day, she messaged me to let me know she joined Alpha Phi. I was at fiance's parents house at the time, so I was able to share the news. Fiance's mom was so happy to hear that she joined her mother's sorority! Fiance's mom did rush in college, but decided to drop out. (She decided that she would be too busy with her pre-med coursework.) Since fiance's mom was the only daughter and did not join, she was thrilled to learn that a granddaughter joined!
Then, I decided to ask fiance's mom if she has her mother's badge. I assumed that she might have no idea where her mom's badge ended up, and since she was not Greek, that she might not understand how nice it would be to pass it down to a legacy. However, when I started asking about it, she practically finished my sentence for me--Yes, she has her mother's Alpha Phi badge (and some other Alpha Phi jewelry!) and she would be sending it to her niece.
I just thought that was such a neat story.

Wow, that is really special. Maybe someday, his mother could be an AI to Alpha Phi (if they do that, I mean). It sounds like she really appreciates what Alpha Phi stands for. Thanks for sharing.
