Oh my gosh, I am so exhausted. I just took a nice ice cold shower and got all comfortable so now I am ready to start writing my story! I just want to say how surreal this is. I have read so many recruitment stories it is just so weird that now I'm writing my own!
So today I went to 6 chapters:
Lemonades- Right before I went into this house I had crazy butterflies in my stomach. I was SO nervous! I was asking everyone else in my recruitment group if they were nervous too, but apparently I was the only one! Well, that didn't last long. I went in and was greeted by a bunch of singing girls which I was prepared for thanks to greekchat! One girl took me and we went and sat down. I wish I could remember what we talked about but I don't. But that probably means it was just the usual stuff like hometown, residence hall, family, major, etc. But all in all, I really liked these girls.
Do Si Dos- This was my second house, and instead of being nervous like I was at the first one, I was SO FREAKING EXCITED! Haha. I was totally pumped up from the first event. I smiled a lot and asked a lot of questions and was probably a lot more confident that I was at the Lemonades house. These girls were also really nice, but I can't remember any specifics unfortunately! We get these recruitment books to take notes in but we aren't allowed to take them with us when the day is over. I think its to prevent girls from sharing notes with each other. Which makes sense, because basically all I heard today from other PNMs was gossip about each of the chapters.
Thin Mints- I loved these girls! I had some really great conversations with some of them. One of them lived in my hometown for a little while so it was nice we had that in common. Okay so since my story is getting a little boring because I'm basically saying the same thing about each chapter, I'll tell you my little embarassing moment from this chapter. As I was walking in, I guess I walked over an air vent on the floor and my skirt flew up. I'm pretty sure everyone saw but they pretended they didn't. Despite that little incident, I had a great time here!
Trefoils- Okay, let me just start off by saying that my entire group was not looking forward to going to this chapter. They were making fun of the girls before we even went in! Apparently they have a bad reputation. But screw that! I LOVED THEM!!! They rest of the girls were just judging by their looks and probably had their minds made up about them before they even went in, so of course they were gonna leave the house and not like them. But I really liked them. I had some genuine conversations and they all seem really down to earth. I could see myself being happy here.
Samoas- I really liked these girls but I felt a little intimidated for some reason when I went in. The girl I talked to was so pretty. I wasn't gonna talk about how pretty the girls were in my story because I didn't think it was important, but I had to just mention this one girl. Aside from that, I really liked their house and I am especially interested in their philanthropy. I have done a lot of volunteer work on my own for something very similar to what they do. So we basically talked about that the whole time. It was fun! Philanthropy is something I definitely want to be involved with if I join a sorority so it was nice to hear about the kinds of things they did.
Thanks-a-lot - Last house of the day! whew! I have to say, I had pretty much the same experience in every single house I went to. They were all amazing, this one included. They seemed really into their academics and things like that which is so important to me. We also talked about pets which was so fun but it made me miss my dog. I really liked these girls a lot and I feel like our conversations went really smoothly. I had fun!
Wow okay so I feel like I forgot a lot of stuff. Haha. Basically to sum up, all the houses were gorgeous, all the girls were stunning, and I would be happy to be invited back to any one of these houses. After going through this experience myself, I find it incredible how some of these girls who write recruitment stories can form opinions after just a half hour and after talking to only 4 or 5 girls! Right now I think all of the houses are amazing. If the ones tomorrow are half as fun as today, I will be just amazed at how awesome greek life is at my school.
I will update again tomorrow night! Hope you enjoyed reading! And if you have any questions, ask. Because I feel like I forgot to include a lot of stuff.

I'm so glad to hear you staying positive and realizing the tent talk is worthless. And don't worry about the Marilyn Monroe incident. Everyone needs to be memorable during rush. I figure if that's the worst you've got this week, you are in for a very good time.

I love your story so far and you have a GREAT attitude. Keep that and no matter what happens with your recruitment - you'll do just fine in college and in life.
The dress over the air vent story made me think of Anna Faris in "The House Bunny" LOL. A take off on Marilyn Monroe. It might be one of those things all of your sorority sisters laugh about with you someday.
Don't want to pick a favorite, BUT I've found you can never have too many thin mints. Gotta go with those.
Good luck and enjoy every minute!

I'm going to root for Trefoils, one because I love an underdog and two because I love the shortbread cookies. However, I do maintain the right to gripe about the change in recipe. They used to be way better.

*drool* Juliettes... They were my favorite Girl Scout Cookie when I joined way back in 1990...
Anyway, I like your story so far. You have a great attitude about recruitment. Good luck in the coming days. And Goooo Samoas!
*sings* Girl Scouts together. Happy are we. Winding the old trails; rocky and free. Learning our motto. Living our creed. Girl Scouts together in every good deed...

You were like Marilyn Monroe at Thin Mints! Love it. BTW, I'm going to say that you give me hope in the new generation with your comments on Trefoils. I personally LOVE Trefoils and they have never done any thing disrespectful and have always gotten along with the other cookies in my cabinet. Have fun and good luck to you!
