I joined bp in march 2000. At this time, I really felt that it was a sight in which I could meet and newtork with black people within the diaspora. I've stopped using bp lately because, they have changed to be a "hook up" site. I' also know of some negative experiences, wherein ppl have been exploited, and harassed by other bp members. Pictures of sisters from the Atlanta University Center were posted on to a fake members page aand captions were included underneath each pic, with descriptions of sexual acts that the sisters had, or are willing to perform. The page has been removed, and some of the ppl pressed charges once the real bp member was found out.
Recently, I recieved a note from someone who I had never met, or chatted with, that was extremely insulting and uncalled for. When I reported this note and member to the bp authorities, they replied by telling me how to block ppl from send me messages....I'd prefer to stop using bp all together.
