AnchorAlumna-thanks for the info about the news! I guess with all of the girls, this is just like a major sporting event! I am still learning and appreciate all of the information on this board!
Thanks Again!

My daughter sent a quick text...full schedule only dropped by 1 of her picks. She had said the day before her girl at that house was hard to talk to, so she was expecting this. D is looking forward to visiting all the houses again, even the one pick-up off her drop list.
By the looks of GC posts, there are a lot of happy girls in Bama today.
Anyone heard if the number of PNM's is holding up? There are usually quite a few resignations at this point.

All the Bama girls seem to be doing really well. My daughter is on the other side of rush (yes I still call it that. Recruitment sounds like they are going in the military!) and they did 23 parties the first 2 days! Brutal! If it was like the year my daughter went thru (2008) expect MAJOR cuts after Philanthropy round. But as everyone on here always says. You can only join one sorority so in the end one is all you need!

Well, I was going to hold out posting but I think I need moral support. Lost my old username so I registered. Have two PNMs in my life rushing--one at Bama, one at AU. The Bama PNM is a dear friend and the Auburn PNM is a cousin. Auburn PNM seems to be doing well. Bama PNM was only invited back to 4 today. She's handling it well but there's not much room for more cuts. I've had the "only takes one," "they're all good," talk to try to offer support. I think she's disappointed but I think she's realistic as well. Not great grades but should have met the cutoff on most. Will keep you all posted and am so proud of the other PNMs--it's a tough week!!!!

Oh man. It IS good that she has invites though.
My understanding with grades is that many PNMs have excellent grades. So it makes a PNM who just makes the cut off looks much less impressive.

I agree and we're dealing with somoene who hasn't been groomed her whole life to be in a sorority like many of these girls. So I knew going in there would be some challenges with grades, right things to say, etc. I have just tried to be her #1 cheerleader but realistic with her and prepared her for this situation. FINGERS CROSSED EVERYONE and thanks so much for the support. Can't wait to see where everyone goes.

Throwing some hugs your way!
This is a very tough time for so many people. It is not just the young ladies that feel it, but also mom/dad/siblings/extended family/friends etc. It is a long chain that the process takes its toll on. We can't all get what we want or hope to go where we want to go.
"It only takes one" and "they're all good" doesn't always work in every single case. The process does work, but not for everyone no matter how openminded young ladies are.
I hope there is happiness in the end for your pnms

I heard from my daughter and she had 10! Has already been to one house that she didn't think was for her, but was pleasantly surprised after her visit today. I told her it seems to always work out for the best and just keep smiling! Glad to see so many happy moms today! This is much more nerve racking than I could ever imagine!!!

I have decided that it might be better for dd to go to college where there is no AXO chapter. I'm having a hard time getting through this week and it is only volleyball tryouts! I feel for all of you Moms out there. I think I would need an IV drip of comos or something to get through it.

Holding hand up as a guilty-as-charged mom. It's definitely a bit of a surreal experience ... but I was a fast learner when I moved to Alabama before my daughters were born. What do they say? When in Rome?
Best of luck to your PNM.

When in Rome for sure--I don't blame those moms at all and had one to a degree. Which helped. Thanks so much for everyone's supports. More info to come.
