Dr. Paul Martin

Hi everyone! I wanted to inform you that Dr. Paul Martin, husband of Dorothy Garrett Martin, and great benefactor to Delta Gamma and his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, passed away this morning around 5:30am. He was in his 90's and his health had been fading for some time. Please keep his family in your prayers throughout this time.

Dr. Martin and his wife Dorothy (before her passing) gave a lot to Delta Gamma over many years. They began the Dorothy Garrett Martin Lectureship in Values and Ethics, funded the Foundation Center at Executive Offices, and provided scholarships to collegians at The University of Akron in Dorothy's memory. He has left a lasting legacy on not only the Eta Chapter of DG but the Fraternity as a whole. I know that I wouldn't be where I am without his kindness and generosity.

They were lovely, generous people and we are all better for what they did for the Greek community.

Don't mean to crash your forum, but as a fellow alumna of the Akron Greek system I just wanted to express my condolences for the loss of Dr. Martin. He and his wife truly were assets to both our Greek system and the university community as a whole.
