Just wondered.

Yes, they are real and No, some of them are not recent. I am a member of Omega Prep and we were started in 1984 on the campus of the University Of Memphis during a youth program sponcerd by Omega Psi Phi fraternity Inc.

Auxiliary organizations are not generally the same thing as a high school fraternity or sorority.

The problem is that some of these youth groups and auxilliaries think they are a fraternity or sorority; and that they aren't just high school/overall insignificant entities.
ETA: http://omegaprepmobile.tripod.com/id1.html LOL. This even references a boy leaving Kappa League to help found Omega Prep with other boys and under the direction of some Omegas. LOL.

They are doing too much and I think they have the Zeta's handsign. I hope they are getting A's in school.

See this is the kind of thing that trivializes the REAL greek life, but I blame it on greeks. We have Rhoers but they know they're not a sorority and they don't act like one.

Oh god. Why won't tripod just go burn with geocities and AOL pages?

Yeah I'm sure they do, but I didn't want to get into it so I just kept it simple.

This is exactly why im happy my org doesn't endorse auxiliary orgs, and I cannot imagine the day we ever will. The biggest mistake orgs ever make is allowing these "clubs" or associations to become organized to the point where they begin to see themselves as their own fraternity/sorority.
