I am sorry for your loss.
At my school it was crazy snowing too and we cut off 3 or 4 days of recruitment, so formal recruitment was different and shorter. A lot of girls didn't get bids, so I'd definitely try again. In terms of informal recruitment, it depends on what school, so contacting the greek life office at your school is best. I also agree with groovypq's advice about maximizing options. Good luck if you choose to go through with it again.
