I was an excellent pianist when I was younger (I've fallen way out of practice); I played Rachmaninoff's
Prelude in G Minor (Op.23, No.5) for my eighth grade piano recital. I chose my undergraduate university based on the reputation of the music department. I was a double major in piano and vocal performance until I realized that my favorite hobby was no longer anything I could turn to as an escape. Almost 20 years later, I'm still glad I made the decision I made, but I miss playing/singing.
