Not only do they looks stunning, but I just love it when women know how to carry flowers - over the arm like a Miss America, not held like a Statue of Liberty's torch

Seriously - I just spent about 2 minutes thinking about how short the stems were on the bouquets at the last couple of weddings I was in and how it would look if I tried to carry them over the arm... hehe.

We didn't do a theme wedding but we had a fun theme rehersal dinner as an ice breaker. (My family and his family didn't really know each other at all, and we had 38 people in the wedding party... lol.) We did a "Redneck Wedding" dress up contest and ate at a real country themed restaurant that is a lot of fun. Everyone LOVED it. We gave out prizes and worked as an ice breaker.
Our wedding colors were coral and periwinkle-- colors from the Florida sunset.

After a lot of arm pulling, our wedding colors will be navy and pink. We're not having a theme to our wedding simply because I don't want to get caught up in the details.

I'm thinking either a hunter green with gold and tartan, or light blue with silver and white. There WILL be dozens of crystal snowflakes scattered about the reception and on the cake!

Honeychile, we had a December wedding and surely saved a ton because we only had to pay for bouquets. Your light blue, silver, and white snowflake theme sounds fabulous!

Thank you! The colors that we seem to agree on are (if we don't go for the hunter green scheme):
Bridesmaid dresses, cumberbunds/ties. Not navy, more of a royal or marine blue. Check the ribbon on the bouquet below for a more exact shade.
Accents like napkins. In, um, Azure?
For the flowers, I'd like the old fashioned cream, pale pink and white roses, with magnolias or gardenias. Picture the following with pinks & creams instead of all white, green, & purple flowers. At least, something on that line:
White twig trees as centerpieces with a very slight dusting of glitter, with crystal snowflakes. Of course, we do need to set a date yet - which I won't do until we set a few other things!

I really like that one ^. I'm really partial to Bells of Ireland though. Here's a pic of my bouquet, which was white roses (for TD), bells of Ireland (proposed to in Ireland and lived there), thistles (for Scotland live/d there) and little sprigs of wheat. My bridesmaids just had plain wheat bouquets.

^^All lies! Well, not really. Just the fall colors. I wouldn't get married in the fall. I prefer late spring or late summer.

I just did navy and fuchsia! I loved the combination and thought it worked well with the space we used. Be careful, joliebelle- I didn't go for a theme and then next thing I know, my mom started throwing around words like antebellum. It was a good thing I wasn't a bridezilla, though because my navy blue dresses ended up being almost black. There was some drama with the wedding shop over ordering the bridesmaid dresses and during this 6 months of confusion, the designer changed the dye/swatch. We were surprised when we picked them up.

Uh, isn't the Statue of Liberty holding the torch over her head? I don't think most people naturally hold their flowers like that.
But if my theoretical-bridesmaids piss me off, I'm TOTALLY going to make them dress like the statue of liberty, and hold their flowers over their heads the entire time.

I just saw pics on FB of a friend who was in a wedding down in New Orleans over the weekend. The bridesmaids wore a bright red (like someone else said 4th of July red). It looked great! I think as long as you aren't doing a deep deep red or a burgundy you should be fine! I think a bright red with lots of summer time flowers would look gorgeous!
