Some of the oldest chapters were at private schools like Stanford, Purdue, and Tulane. Alot also at the public schools surrounding IL.

I think it's more about the culture of the campus itself than it is about a public or private school. If a school is conservative, public or private, most of the Greek chapters probably are too. At a party school, public or private, you're going to find a lot more craziness among the Greeks.
Also, I agree with SWTX. This is going the give the Greek haters that much more ammunition and will hurt chapters everywhere, expecially the organizations involved in the recent incidents.
Oh, and BTW, William and Mary is a public school!

She thinks Pi Phi is a private school kind of sorority and that it doesn't do well at public schools or this is what happens. I don't know what does everyone else think? Does it matter if Pi Phi is big at private schools? I know it sounds bratty for her to say 90% of the girls they take are legacies but does their strict requirements make them better behaved?

I was just the messenger from what my older friend said. Pi Phi isn't a sorority that I know people around here join. I would think it is more of a Northern girl sorority. Everyone joins the typical 5 around here and in the South. 90% of everyone I know pick out of the 5. To find out chapter info it is on their website with the founding dates.

Well you think wrong, are terribly uninformed and are being insulting. It would probably be a good idea to STFU now and concentrate on getting a bid.
