My big and I have had an interesting relationship. I didnt know her too well when I got her as my big, but slowly during my freshman year we would go out together, shared the same circle of friends, etc. This past year she went away for 6 months and I kind of came into my own without her, developed my own close friends, etc. She came back for our spring term and I wasn't nearly as close with her as I was last year. Then, she disaffiliated. I love her to death as a person, but she wasn't necessarily a good mentor in terms of being enthusiastic about our organization (hence, her disaffiliation).
HOWEVER, MY LITTLE IS AMAZING. First, she's one of the coolest/strongest people I've ever met, I feel like she's my blood sister. I think we have a good balance because we're the same major, I can give her school advice, I have taken many posititions in both my sorority and the Panhellenic council, and most of all we have so much FUN together. We definitely have our own groups of friends, which is fine/I like it this way, but we always manage to see each other for lunch/going out/whatever at least once a week. I'm extremely sad to part from her this summer
But I love my pairing and as new head of my family can't wait for my little's little next year
