Is she missing an eye or was she just swollen from an injury?
The belly rub makes me miss my old basset hound, Fred. Our morning ritual was to rub his belly with my foot as I would make my breakfast before work. He was such a sweet dog. Now I just have the two brats that won't die...

I ETA, she has a small eye that never fully developed, no idea why. We found her in the park a bit smaller than that picture, about six weeks old but looking more like four weeks.
And bassets are adorable if a bit loud.

She probably had a retinal detachment. In humans, that will make the eye not grow which will make that side of the face smaller too.
Fred could be a bit loud at times, but not bad. He didn't howl. He also liked me to grab his ears and turn them like peddles on a bicycle. His ears were soooo long.

Possibly, fur makes it hard it hard to figure out if her face is symmetrical besides the eyelids, and she has wicked ear/nose drainage problems
He sounds like he was adorable.
Also loving all the other pics, these are great

The one scratching himself, the tri-color, looks a bit like Fred. Thanks!
