I don't believe you on this one. I don't believe your mother was in a sorority or that you even attend events at the local college. You won't even say what school or sorority...so, I think you are talking out your ass.

It matters at the chapter that you can point at the composite and say that is MY mom or you meet the girl thats mom and your mom were best part of the same family. She won't get in at Michigan for being a legacy of any kind, she has more of a chance at the chapter her family were part of because they are known.
