			I HATED titanic... lol.
If anyone has ever read the Tower Series by Stephen King... there's a lot of similarities between LOST and that plot. I was waiting for King to make a guest appearance and say "HAHA! I punked all of you suckers!"

So I'm guessing Ben didn't go into the church because he wasn't ready to go on to the afterlife? He was cool with his little happy place inbetween?

			Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
I cried several times, and I'm also confused. I'll pretty much put a big ditto on most questions you all posted just now. Maybe the people who died but WEREN'T in the church had already moved on? And when the hell did Penny die? Why do they have new people (Jack's son, Locke's fiancee, etc.) in the alternate world?

 | Some of the new people probably died while waiting or after hearing the news that this plane crashed.

The point of it all is that everybody dies eventually so it doesn't really matter what happened on the island as long as we understand that it was the most important time of their lives and they would be together again.

Many of the cast members discussed the ending on Jimmy Kimmel after the final episode. It was said that the ending was left open to interpretation and that (as someone just mentioned)the basic message was that their time on the Island was the most important time in their lives, and those were the most important people in their lives. It said the place/alternate world/heaven was the place that they created while they were on the Island so that they could all be together again. They also had a theory that the Island was their test/s of who they were as a person and to see if they would get to the better place/heaven or whatever you would like to call it. Really not just point blank answers but more of like what you got out of it and what it all meant to you.
I'm still pretty sad that I'll never see a new episode ever again. |

I haven't watched JKL from last night (couldn't stay awake that late!), so even though I saw the finale, I feel like I won't be completely in-the-know until I've watched that. (As if there's ever a completely in-the-know when it comes to LOST.)
That said, I'm happy with the finale. I had heard that it wouldn't be wrapped up in a nice little package, and that it would require/allow the audience to make their own determinations. So, I guess I had an idea of what would (or, better, what wouldn't) happen. I feel badly for everyone who was wanting a precise explanation of what the island is/was, what the rules were, how long had a protector been in place, etc... The show was always about its characters, and the finale was no different. Like I said, I'm happy with the way it ended. I'll miss it, but I'm glad it's over.

My dad saw part of the finale (after never having watched ANY show before) and complained that he doesn't like shows that make him think. Lol!

			If true, this is interesting:

The LOST series DVD will include a 12-14 minute epilogue showcasing Hurley and Ben after they take over the role of island-protector.
