I've been to the Governor's mansion in Austin. Governor's are required to live there during their term (at least when the mansion isn't destroyed.) It's very old and stately but modest in size. You'd think the good people of TX would have seen fit to pick the temporary Governor's Mansion for him so they could control the costs a little better! BTW, when the Arkansas' Governor's manor was being renovated, then Governor Huckaby moved his family into a lovely mobile home on the grounds of the manor! He even gave The Today Show a tour of the mobile home!! Talk about TPT publicity stunt.

Our ex-Governor never lived in our mansion. But then, he spends all of his time these days trying to protest his innocence on reality shows.. so yeah.
