I feel like there is a piece to the story we're not getting.
I find it hard to believe that some officers/a bunch of guys woke up one day and were like "we gotta cut some pledges. I know! Lets cut the dude we hang out with everyday!" for no reason at all.

THIS. Especially so close to the end. There was likely (99.95% sure) something on his behalf that caused this termination. Blackballing isn't done lightly, especially with friends.

Something else happened. This isn't the whole story, whether you know it or not.
Look, you have three options:
1. Continue to be friends with these guys and accept the fact that you will never be a member of this fraternity. Quit your whining and get over it. Join another group who will actually take you.
2. Continue to be their friend and continue to whine so they finally end up murdering you in your sleep to shut you up. You still won't ever be a member of their fraternity.
3. See them for the dbs they are and tell them to drink bleach. Join another group who will actually take you. You still won't ever be a member of their fraternity.
