A children's literature class i took in high school ...really opened my eyes to how fairy tales, etc, reflected the times ...
in college it was a drama class that focused on speech and articulation. certainly prepared me for my professional career as a journalist/public speaker
and all of my african-american studies classes which balanced the "other" learning I acquired through the years ...
