Yes, they had access to some very good lawyers. That was fortunate, since they were being railroaded by the district attorney, whose handling of the case led to his disbarment for, among other things, fraud, dishonesty, deceit or misrepresentation, making false statements of material fact before a judge, making false statements of material fact before bar investigators, and lying about withholding exculpatory DNA evidence.
