I agree. Apparently we're in the minority here
For me, the songs were too slow and I don't really like April's character. There were two points (both Shu/April duets I think) where I told my husband to fast forward through the songs.
I did enjoy hearing other people sing- for example, I like Kurt's voice more than Finn's. A lot of those side characters have fantastic voices. I don't mind having a couple of people sing the most, it makes sense for a show- but I enjoy hearing the others show off too. But... more of the fun energetic songs please?
