I think it's probably too early to really think we know his motives.
Yes, we saw the eye contact between him and coach Idina, but his expression was something less than unambiguous. Isn't it possible that he really likes Rachel
and that coach Idina encouraged him to set Rachel up? Maybe he doesn't know yet what he's going to do.
