Of course it's not. It's lunch in the cafeteria. But go there and get a Coke and a piece of pie (I'm assuming you do have a meal plan) and hang out for a while, just to be seen. One of the sororities at my school used to enforce "caf time" and while we thought it was ridiculous - in retrospect, it did work for them as they never had any problem with people knowing who they were or getting members.
