I guess I don't really understand why said person was banned in the first place? From what I can tell, he was a bit nonsensical, but certainly not malevolent.

Keep in mind that for many banned posters, the real reasons for banning (the offending posts, mostly) have been removed from the site.

But I think that this particular poster has been discussed enough that you can put together the pieces.
