I'm going to be going through spring recruitment at my school in a few weeks (three, to be exact) and I'm really excited! Recruitment is the second week of the quarter, as the first week is devoted to flyering and tabling. I just have a couple of questions that I was hoping you guys could help me with.
Our schedule looks like this:
Day 1: 8 parties
Day 2: 4 parties
Day 3: 4 parties (I am guessing this is the pref. round?)
Day 4: Bid day
My first questions involve the actual process (not quite sure if that's the right term): whether cuts happen between day 2 and day 3, and whether multiple bids are extended. The latter I ask because on the NPC website, it says that Day 4 is "Bid Distribution. Pick up your bids in (room listed)."
My other question is this: I know that it is a good idea to "lay low" before rush starts, so that nobody gets the wrong impression of you and all that. However, I know the first Thursday of the quarter, my best friend's fraternity will be having their big quarterly then. He's been telling me about it since before finals week, so I can tell he's excited haha. I was wondering if I should skip out on going to it, just in case, or if I should go anyway and keep a sort of low profile?
Thanks in advance

If you're going from 8 to 4 to 4 again, I'm guessing 4 is the MAX that you can go to for those days (you could be asked to the max, or you could have 1, 2 or 3 parties depending on how many invites you get).
About multiple bids, I am going to assume that since this is a rather structured spring recruitment that you can only receive ONE bid at the end (like formal).
These are all good questions for your Rho Gamma/Rho Chi/whoever.
As far as going out, this is a personal decision that you have to make. Be aware that wherever you go, there will most likely be sorority members present. They can and do remember girls from parties when they come through recruitment. So have fun, but keep it reasonably low-key.
Ex: If you get kicked out and are drunk and screaming on the lawn, sorority members WILL remember you when recruitment comes.
Or, if you get too drunk and flash a bunch of guys, they'll remember that and you will be "that girl who flashed those guys at XYZ."
You do not want to be remembered by something people saw you do at a party.
