I hesitate to call this a retro story because I don't want to feel old yet :)

[Pirouette]

A short background of me:

I come from a very large family and almost everyone had been Greek during college. This made me an official legacy to three NPCs (Trouble, Connect Four, and Chutes and Ladders), but I also had aunts and cousins that were in different organizations as well. Only one of my legacy chapters was on my campus at the time, Trouble, but my mother did not put any pressure on me to join her organization, because she was the first to break the family tradition of joining Connect Four (like her mother, grandmother, and two older sisters).

Within my intermediate family, I was the oldest child and very close to my younger siblings so I decided to attend a college that was only about a half hour away from home. For the first couple weekends, I found myself going home to see my family (and avoiding my annoying roommate and her boyfriend who had decided to move in). But then the weekend of recruitment came and I decided to stick around and try it out.
I had registered for recruitment during orientation because I had always wanted to be in a sorority like the rest of my family. Everyone had always spoken of their organizations in such a positive way and I wanted to be able to do the same. As a child, my favorite colors were those of Trouble and I had a stuffed animal that was the Trouble mascot that I carried with me everywhere, so I was very excited to see that they had a chapter at my school. However, my roommate was also going through recruitment and I was terrified that we’d end up in the same organization and I knew I rather not be a Greek at all then have to spend four whole years with her (by then I had already filled out a form to be moved to another room the next semester). Luckily, we were at least in different Rho Gamma groups so I wouldn’t have to see her much the first day of recruitment.
Other random characters I decided needed names will be named after classic movie stars (inspired after watching way too many old movies while I was sick last week). For simplicity, I’ll just use their first names throughout the story.
